These books have been successfully used by three different types of students. One group is young children who need a solid grammar foundation and are in the fifth or sixth grade. A second group consists of those who have not done well using traditional texts; the Grammar Land books offer a change of pace and method which is often appealing to this type of student. The third group finding success with these books is made up of varying ages who need remediation. These students are often older, junior high or high school; experience has shown that many of them find the format and material very much to their taste, and they consequently do quite well. The books are in allegory format and tell the story of how Tank, a young fellow needing help with grammar, travels through Grammar Land meeting all sorts of folks and learning about the language in the process.
