Step through the wardrobe into an exciting study in the land of Narnia. It will take you through the seven Narnian adventures as well as the more down to earth (or out of this world, whichever perspective you prefer) subjects of Bible study, English/literature, history/social studies, science, geography, cooking, and art. Further Up and Further In has 28 units. Each unit should last about one week with the extra eight weeks being spent on activities that the parent wants to spend extra time completing. It will truly take a year. With over 350 pages, it is a most self-contained unit study. It contains an Activity Appendix with directions and recipes for many of the activities. There are three different recipes for Turkish Delight. There is a Recommended Reading Appendix that contains poems, short stories, fables, and background information. The teacher/parent will find the Answer Appendix helpful in directing her student(s) to the correct answers. Adventurers who read at the fourth to eighth grade level will benefit the most from this study; however, it may be easily adapted for anyone who is not too old to expand his horizons. You will need access to the internet and/or a good set of encyclopedias, a dictionary, a Bible, a Bible concordance, and a thesaurus. You may also use your library for other recommended resources.
